Best Handheld Laser Welders: Six Models Compared on Price, Power and Support
Research-based, not hands-on: we have not tested these machines. Some links may pay us a commission, which never changes the order or the verdict. See our editorial policy.

How we picked
We have not used these machines. We read each maker's own page on October 4, 2026, kept the figures that could be checked, and flagged the rest. The order below is by price, lowest first. It is not ordered by commission, and our editorial policy explains the method. If you want to know which of these links may pay us, the affiliate disclosure says so.

Which one for which buyer
Lowest price with a fiber laser and a wire feeder option: Xlaserlab X1 Pro
At $3,499.99 it is the cheapest unit that lists 100 to 250 V input, a fiber source and wire feeder options. It also has the shortest warranty. Its claim of 0.5 to 3 mm suits sheet metal rather than plate. The page says "FDA & CE MD Approved". The FDA does not approve these products, and we found no accession number, so ask for it.
Heavy and inexpensive: OMTech 1000W
A welder with a wire feeder, safety glasses and nozzles included, at $3,599.99. It weighs about 50 kg and needs 220 to 240 V. The laser class is not stated on the page.
Best documented: xTool MetalFab
xTool publishes the most detail, including a test citation (SGS, ISO 15614-1) and a list of safety features such as a nozzle-contact trigger, interlock and ground detection. The same detail exposes inconsistencies: its own pages give different circuit requirements for the 1200W, and the 1200W price differs between pages. Check the live page before you decide.
More power with a built-in chiller: OMTech 1500W
A 3-in-1 at $5,499.99 with an automatic wire feeder and 20 nozzles. Voltage, weight and laser class were not stated on the page, and glasses are not included.
Longest warranty among the imports: ArcCaptain LW1200
Three years and a US warehouse at $7,299. The page says the pre-order price window ends October 29, 2026, and stock status is unclear, because a collection page showed "Sold Out" while the product page showed pre-order shipping. Plug type, weight and return terms were not stated.
Most support: Everlast RedSabre 1500
At $8,499 it costs about two and a half times the cheapest unit, and comes with a 5-year warranty from a US seller. Everlast's pages list the 1500 at 181 lb and the stronger 2000 at 135 lb, so one of those figures is likely wrong.
What every listing should answer
- The FDA accession number, not just the word "compliant".
- Where the key switch and remote interlock connector are.
- Which eyewear wavelength band is in the box.
- Who pays duties and return shipping.
Our safety guide explains why each of those matters.
What we could not verify
- Weld quality, penetration depth and gas use on any machine.
- Return and tariff terms for ArcCaptain and OMTech.
- Whether any of these models carries an FDA accession number.
For the thinking behind the specs, see the handheld laser welder guide. For first-year costs, see laser welder cost.
