Privacy Policy

Handheld Laser Guide is a small, independent site. This page explains what we collect, why, and how to opt out. In short: we do not sell your data, we do not run ads, and everything that sets a cookie can be switched off.
Analytics that run for everyone
We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool we host ourselves. It sets no cookies, stores no personal data and does not follow you to other sites. It records aggregate page views, the referring site and approximate country, browser and device type. We cannot identify individual visitors from it, and because it needs no consent, it runs for everyone.
Analytics that set cookies
Two tools set cookies or store an identifier in your browser:
- Google Analytics 4 tells us which guides are read and how people move through the site. Google processes this data as our provider and may transfer it outside the EU.
- Klyqq is our own click tracker. It stores a random visitor ID in a first-party cookie, kept for up to 2 years, so we can tell which links get clicked and match a purchase back to a click. That ID is not tied to your name, email or anything else about you.
When they load depends on where you are. If you are in the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we ask first: neither tool loads until you click “Accept” in the cookie banner. Everywhere else, both tools load by default and you can switch them off.
To tell the two apart we use two signals, and either one is enough for us to ask first. The first is the country of your IP address, which Cloudflare, our network provider, passes along with each page request. We do not store the address itself, only whether it points to a country where we ask first, in a cookie that expires after one day. The second is your device’s time zone setting, read in your browser. If we cannot read it, we ask.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a “no”: neither tool loads, wherever you are, unless you turn them on yourself in the cookie settings.
If you decline, neither one loads, any cookies they already set are removed, and the site works exactly the same. You can change your mind at any time with the round cookie button in the bottom-left corner, the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page, or right here: . Your choice is stored in your browser, not on our server, so clearing site data resets it.
Affiliate links
Product links go through a redirect on this domain to the manufacturer. If a link has your Klyqq visitor ID attached, it is passed to the affiliate program so a sale can be matched to the click. Without consent where consent is required, the redirect sends the word “noconsent” instead. Manufacturers and networks set their own cookies once you land on their site, under their own privacy policies. See our affiliate disclosure.
The contact form
When you use our contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you submit through Backend Forms, our form-handling service, and use them only to reply. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you are not a bot. We do not add you to any mailing list.
Your rights
If you are in the EU or UK, you can ask what data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw consent at any time. Wherever you are, you can opt out of the cookie-based tools through the cookie settings. Because we collect so little, a request usually comes down to your contact form messages. Reach us through the contact page.
Changes
If we add or remove a tool that touches your data, we will update this page and change the date above.
